I was looking for a gym to help me after a disc injury and constant back pain. I’ve been training with Rory here for a few weeks now and it’s truly great! Even after this short time, I feel so much better in my body and see progress every single session. Rory is the perfect balance: super funny, but he also challenges you a lot and makes sure you improve each time. All the coaches are really friendly and the gym has a nice, family vibe. It’s a smaller gym, but it’s clean, well equipped, and has enough showers.

It has been a great experience training at the Athletic club since June last year. From the first visit, the simplicity and no show off business attracted me and they maintain it all through. Being a beginner, the trainer’s attention to detail about my personal needs & requirements was impressive. Also the approach of trainers going beyond their usual routine to suggest how the forms of different exercise can be improved, keeping your limitations into consideration, is thoughtful. Athletic Club is a fantastic fitness facility with the most incredibly welcoming atmosphere. It doesn't matter if you are a complete novice or a superstar athlete, you will feel at home here. I personally recommend training with Jack Cullen, who not only brings the entertainment, but also the knowledge. He's taken the time to get to know, and work around, all the strange and quirky parts of my middle aged physique so that my sessions are fun, effective and injury free. A definite 5 star experience!
I've never worked with a personal trainer before, so it took me a while to find the perfect fit, which turned out to be Jack! He's incredibly supportive, friendly, and easy-going, but don't let that fool you - he won't take it easy on you during workouts 😆 I shared my body goals with him, and he truly respected that, tailoring my workout routine to help me reach those targets. The gym is very, very clean and conveniently located in the heart of central, right next to my office, making it extremely convenient. When my wife and I started looking for a PT gym, we had 2 key requirements in mind - 1) focus on long term sustainable results rather than short term transformations and 2) experience in training pregnant women and dealing with prior injuries (dislocated shoulder). While it’s only been 2 months, we are both extremely happy with the results so far! Rhys and Ivan have been fantastic and super attentive to our individual needs. It’s a very nice gym with excellent lively atmosphere. The 1 hour gym session is full of energy and makes me looking forward to going to the gym which was never the case before. Big shout out to my trainer Rory. He is very knowledgeable and builds me with strength quickly in only around a month.
Rory is a fantastic trainer! As someone who has previously avoided the gym or working out, Rory has been great at keeping me motivated and consistent. He is great at adapting to work around fluctuations in health/fitness due to chronic issues. Not only has my fitness improved but so has my mental health through the encouragement of regular consistent work outs. Rory is incredibly easy to talk to and keep you laughing throughout the sessions when you need it.

When I decided I wanted to get a personal trainer last year, I visited and did trials/tours at 4–5 PT gyms around Central. Out of all of them, Athletic Club stood out for a number of reasons: - The gym was clean, a nice size, well-equipped, and well-maintained. - The vibe was professional but, at the same time, also very friendly and welcoming. - I also felt like the training program was very tailored to what the client wanted. In my case, I wanted to get fitter without having to be very restrictive with my diet or follow a strict training plan, and they were very understanding and accommodating on this front compared to the other gyms I visited. - Considering the reasons above, the price and package offerings were reasonable and competitive. I chose AC and have not looked back since. I was matched with my trainer, Jack, who is awesome! He took the time to understand what I wanted to get out of training and designed a program that fit my goals perfectly. Training with him is challenging, but he pushes me in a way that feels encouraging and not at all overwhelming. He is extremely attentive, perceptive, and knowledgeable. He easily adapts the training to my needs and explains the different movements so that I understand whether I am doing them correctly. He switches things up every few months so that things don't get and allows me to get more advanced with my training. He also gives me tips on diet and how to make small changes in my lifestyle to be healthier. I look forward to our training sessions together, and with his help, I feel like I’ve made so much progress in reaching my goals. I’ve also gained a better understanding of what it takes to lose weight and get fit. I love working out at the Athletic Club! I didn't have that much experience lifting until I started working out with Ivan who is a great personal trainer. Since beginning to workout here, I have gained so much confidence and become a better athlete.
I’ve been working with Jack Cullen for the last 4 months now, and I am thrilled with the results. My goal was to lose weight sustainably, wanting to be more mobile while addressing specific concerns, such as stiff upper back issues. This issue turned out to be phase 2 degeneration of spine. Jack listened carefully to my needs and crafted a personalized workout plan to help me become stronger and improve my mobility. Jack doesn’t hesitate to push me further or adjust the exercises with feedback (if not hitting right muscles or starting to put stress on some area) After 4 months with Jack, I checked in with physio and chiropractor, and both confirmed massive health improvements. Allowing treatments to have exponential results. Currently, I no longer have difficulties getting up from bed with sore upper back. Jack also invested in tracking, monitoring and helping me to understand, reasons on some weight changes and my exercises. Always pushing and remain understanding. Jack invested in app to help with client x PT tracking but this has helped me with conversations with physio and chiro. Jack collaborates with physio and chiro to fine-tune my exercises, ensuring they align with my goals, where necessary challenge me further. I couldn’t be happier with my progress and highly recommend Jack to anyone seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable personal trainer in HK!

I have been training at the Athletic Club since it opened. The trainers are all excellent, qualified, and provide a very tailored/bespoke approach for each individual depending on your goals. The size and atmosphere of the gym makes it feel like 'a club' of like-minded, friendly clients. The facilities great - both the training equipment is complete, but also the little things like hair dryers and toiletries in the bathrooms are very useful. The location is so central that it it easy to pop in very early in the morning, at lunch time or at the end of a long day. I have been training with Ivan and his team since Athletic Club opened and I feel the strongest and fittest that I have been for a very long time. The trainers are excellent and focus on the objectives we have agreed for my fitness. In a PT gym, it is really all about the quality of the trainers but the well laid out gym, modern equipment and central location make it a great experience.
I never had a personal trainer and thought I knew enough to workout on my own. Well, that changed very quickly when I experienced the level of personal training Athletic Club provides. I trained with Lex and he’s not only extremely knowledgeable but also super fun, and so easy to work with. Him and the AC team will make you not want to hit that snooze button and look forward to going to the gym. Highly recommend!

I started working out at AC about 2 months ago and it's the best personal training experience I have ever had. I have trained at other well known gyms in the city and was never pushed to my full potential like I have been at AC. It's not pretentious and they cultivate a professional environment where I always go in feeling comfortable and motivated. Lex has been an amazing motivator and pushed/challenged me to ensure I am getting the most out of my work out. He also ensures my weak knee can get stronger, and hes cautious of any pain that i might have. I highly recommend AC to anyone who is looking for 1-1 custom training and looking to really change their body composition, get in shape, and feel better overall. And the music is cool. ;)
The Club is such a great atmosphere for improving on technique and learning how to gym without distraction (no swarms of gym-goers piling into one space). It's a unique one-on-one experience. Ivan is an incredibly professional trainer; supportive and doesn't make you feel self-conscious. I love that the trainers are there to focus on your development and they're fun!
Great personal training gym! I've been training at ATHLETIC CLUB for over 4 years, through 3 pregnancies and would strongly recommend any of their trainers. Lex in particular has really helped over the last 2 years - he has an in-depth knowledge of what’s the best training through different stages of pregnancy and also how to safely build strength post birth.
I love my PT sessions with Athletic Club! My trainer Rory D creates a really positive and motivational training environment...even after a long day at work! I feel I’ve made some big improvements in strength, fitness and lost some lockdown weight. The sessions are tough (he works you hard), but you feel great afterwards!! :-)
I’ve always worked out on my own thinking I knew what I was doing. Finally, a friend recommended The Athletic Club and I decided to give it a try. I’ve been extremely pleased with the PT, the facilities and the service. I can tell they know the science around fitness and nutrition. Ajay has been an incredible trainer - he is supporting my lifestyle changes in an individualised program rather than trying to push a one size fits all approach. The trainers are all highly knowledgeable, I have been training with Rhys on a personalised structured strength and rehab programme to help me recover and return to sports following two surgeries. A fantastic gym with very good training facilities and equipment. Great rapport on the floor and a very friendly team. I trained with Faiq Khan who is incredibly talented for all levels of fitness and capability. He trained me to be stronger and much more agile through his approach with strength, conditioning and in particular from his expertise in mobility exercises. He helped me rehab minor injuries that I hadn’t been able to get on top of for a long time that allowed me to train and achieve much more than I ever thought. Highly recommended!
I've been with Athletic Club for some time now and my trainer Rory is fantastic. I've been with a few trainers and I can't seem to shift the bar with my weight and fitness but with Rory I can see the results clearly! He's very knowledgeable about movements, explains why we are doing the exercises that we are doing, aiming for the results that we are trying to acheive. Despite being a relatively small outfit, AC has pretty much all the equipment you need for a good workout session. The trainers are very personable and welcoming and the best part is you don't need to worry about overcrowding / having the queue up for the squat rack!

I joined Athletic Club at the beginning of the year. Now in my 50s I’ve worked with a number of PTs and what differentiates training with Rhys is his focus not just on building strength but on functional technique to prevent injury and enhance performance In other sports too and I am already seeing the benefits. It may feel a bit intimidating when you walk through the door as all of the Team look awesome but actually it’s been like joining a family - Ivan, Rhys, Jack, Faiq and Rhiann are a great team who make you feel welcome and comfortable from day 1. I can’t recommend them enough.
Amazing place to work out!!. Honestly I wasn't sure PT was for me and definitely not strength training and conditioning - how wrong I was. After my first session I bought a package and haven't looked back since. All the trainers at the club are professional, experienced and really take the time to understand your form and technique before pushing you (in a good way). Super friendly, not intimidating and great facilities, v central location and not overly crowded. Lex is my trainer and I couldn't recommend him highly enough, so friendly, watchful as you train and the hour whizzes past in no time. If you are thinking about PT come and try it out here - you wont regret it!
Athletic Club is an awesome gym with amazing trainers and atmopshere. I was a little nervous when I first started six months ago as I’ve never been the ‘gym type’, but Lex helped to put me at ease, building my confidence and designing a bespoke training programme tailored to my goals. I’ve seen clear and continued progress in my form, strength and overall fitness and I couldn’t have done this without Lex’s expertise. The gym is in a great location, close to Central, and has high quality equipment. Importantly, as it’s a personal training gym, the place is never too crowded and there is never any wait for a equipment.

I was going through a Covid rut and joining this gym has been absolutely life changing. My Personal Trainer's (Jack) attention to detail, not only to the training, but also to my personal needs are on point and makes me go train 4 times a week with no problem. I come from a sporting background but generally strenght training is not something I enjoy. His approach to keeping me committed to the cause has been phenomenal and I would recommend this gym and any of it's PT's to anyone that is looking for something different. I’ve had personal trainers before, but have always been resistant to weight training. I was convinced to try it out at Athletic Club with Lex and am really enjoying it. Lex knows when to push and is very good at rectifying movements and positions for the best outcome. It’s a nice sized, fully equipped gym and not overly crowded like many other places, which I personally appreciate.
Choosing a PT is something quite personal (pun intended!) and so when I was told to get a PT on medical grounds, I did my research and shopped around. My initial reasons for choosing AC (Ivan) were: Absolute professionalism, expert knowledge and experience, swift replies, and total focus on the client. Ivan listened and understood what my needs were and what I wanted to achieve, so he could tailor make a program for me. There was no hard selling, which I also really appreciated. Having been there for only a few weeks, I am in awe, because: I’m already seeing results, I have gained strength and I am leaner, I have dropped body fat % and a dress size, which I did not expect to happen that quickly and which, I might add, is not my key goal, just a nice side effect! Ivan pushes me to my limits every time, but in a safe way. The sessions are tough, but I feel fantastic afterwards! The overall atmosphere in the gym is excellent, with a diverse team of dedicated trainers.

Best Personal Trainers in HK by miles! I have been training at AC for a little over a month now and already seeing results! Even my free trial was tough and a thorough assesment of my level and capability. There was no pressure to sign up. Faiq is my trainer and he's superb, he gave me my tailored diet and gym plan and has an innate knowledge of all things fitness and diet. I have a ruptured ACL that I pretty much neglected with weights, so legs were weak, but now they are much stronger and I can't believe the weight I am now lifting for barbell squats, deadlifts etc and I don't even use my knee brace anymore. I'm continuing to lose weight and build muscle, I get that push that I need from Faiq. All the other trainers are extremely friendly. Ivan set up my trial and deals with the payment side, he's extremely friendly and helpful! The gym feels like a tight knit community, everyone is friendly with everyone. 5* across the board - cheers guys!
I trained with Rory for about three months and I am incredibly happy with the results we’ve achieved. Ivan and Rory took all the time needed to properly measure me and keep me on track. I’m infinitely grateful for the time they spent and for what they taught me. I would definitely continue training with Athletic Club if I still lived in Hong Kong.
In my opinion there is no better gym environment than Athletic Club - the trainers are knowledgeable, experienced, professional and so nice, and the clients are really lovely. It's amazing to have such a good balance of fun and serious training.
What do you ask from a gym? Easy to reach location so that we don’t change your mind just before leaving the office? Good equipment to not get bored? Great trainers so that you keep motivated session after session? Results so that you sign up again? You’ll get everything at AC. I enjoy working with those guys for the last years after going through several gyms in HK.

This is a fantastic gym decked out with high quality equipment and staffed by friendly, dedicated and professional personal trainers. The gym is never crowded and standards of hygiene and cleanliness are very high, which is more important than ever these days. There's no hard sell at AC, unlike at many other gyms in HK; instead, the trainers at AC let the results speak for themselves

This is my first personal training section, and it is not only help me to weight lose and also tone my body in better shape. I do not like weight training before as I always think this would make me too muscular. Yeah! I know it is not now because it would depend on how you get trained and my knee joint and quadriceps are getting stronger as I used to have knee pain after few hours hiking. The trainer is so professional that observe you closely and push you to achieve what you never think of and also re-adjust the program immediately if it is too much for you. The meal plans also help me to improve my eating habit, not like other extreme meal plans that allow to eat one or two kinds of food. I’m now adding the weight training in my routine and definitely cannot get rid of it.

A great training club led by an excellent head trainer. Ivan and his team work with all types of athletes - from those getting back into it to those with busy travel schedules to those who play professional sports. It’s always challenging but fun. And they listen and understand your body. Most importantly it’s not about fads but results through effort.

I trained with Lex throughout my pregnancy, he ensured that I was only performing exercises that were safe. I enjoyed every session and managed to maintain the muscle that I had prior to being pregnant. Lex kept every session fun and did not allow the routine to become too repetitive. By the time I went into labour, I felt fit and ready. I was able to get back into pre pregnancy shape within months and that was mainly down to Lex’s great coaching and support! I would strongly recommend AC for anyone looking to follow a healthy lifestyle, in a fun and friendly environment and with Trainer’s that are some of the most experienced in Hong Kong!

They will push you to a level you can handle then push you even more to surpass your comfort zone. Thy also look after your diet, so they set meal plans. Much better than all the other PT I've been with... Definitely worth the buck!
